Head Energy Denmark is pleased to welcome Kenneth Nielsen as new Team Manager with responsibility for Power Systems. With a background in high-voltage engineering and broad experience from the renewable energy industry, he brings strong technical insight combined with commercial and leadership experience into the role.

Kenneth began his professional career in a very different field, working as a professional golf coach. After several years helping athletes develop their skills and performance, he chose to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in high-voltage systems.

Since then, he has built solid industry experience. At Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, he worked with R&D and design of converters for offshore wind turbines. At Semco Maritime, he designed offshore substations and later progressed to High Voltage Discipline Lead, gaining hands-on EPC experience as well as international exposure during a period based in Singapore.

Most recently, at ENABL, he held business responsibility for automated testing equipment within the wind industry, combining technical expertise with sales, tendering, project execution, and team management. This combination of deep technical understanding and commercial insight is central to his ambitions at Head Energy.

Building a Strong Power Systems Environment

As Team Manager, his priority is clear:

– If I had to choose one word to describe my focus, it would be understanding. Building a strong Power Systems business begins with genuinely understanding both our customers’ needs and the strengths and motivations of the people we employ.

With his technical background, he aims to build close relationships with clients in order to clearly understand their challenges and expectations.

– When I present a consultant, I want to know with confidence that the person can meet the requirements of the role at the level the customer needs. I want to leverage my professional network and technical insight to identify people whose competencies, mindset, and work ethics I can truly vouch for.

The same principle applies to the people he employs. For Kenneth, it is equally important to understand what drives the consultants, as well as how they want to grow and where they will thrive.

– My goal is to understand what motivates them and where they can develop. A good match happens when both sides feel seen, understood, and well supported.

– What drives me is connecting the right people to the right opportunities, ensuring they are happy in their roles, and building a Power Systems community where competence, motivation, and well-being go hand in hand, he continues.

A Strong Foundation for Growth

Kenneth describes his first weeks at Head Energy as highly positive. The reception has been warm, open, and welcoming, and he has been particularly impressed by the strong collaborative culture.

– Colleagues are not only friendly and supportive, but they bring a lot of humor and personality into the workplace, which makes it easy to feel included from the very beginning. Whenever a question comes up, there is always someone ready to help. It creates a working environment where sharing knowledge, solving challenges together, and lifting each other up is simply part of the daily routine.

For Kenneth, this culture provides a strong foundation for further developing the Power Systems area. He looks forward to contributing to that journey together with colleagues and customers.
