On August 20th Head Energy Denmark had the honor of hosting a delegation from Qingdao Business Development Center.  An exciting exchange of views on the wind offshore industry and potential business opportunities.

Qingdao, a coastal city in the north-east of the People’s Republic of China, is a hub for the rapid development of the Chinese offshore wind industry. Like Esbjerg, the city is home to one of the country’s largest ports and an ideal location for both manufacturing equipment and offshore logistics operations.

During August, a delegation from Qingdao’s Business Development Center has visited various Danish and European companies and contributors to gain experience and to look for potential business partners.

-The People’s Republic of China will undoubtedly play a massive role in the future development of the offshore wind industry.  Both in terms of their own geographical market, but also in terms of product and technology development. The Chinese views are both interesting and inspiring, and hopefully we have managed to present some interesting views, experiences and opportunities to them as well, say General Manager of Head Energy Denmark A/S, Anders Frederiksen.

Qingdao has a population of more than 2.5 million people and is also home of the North Fleet of the Chinese navy.
